Frequently Asked Questions

  1. How does my POSB GO! Debit Card work?

    This POSB GO! Debit Card can be used at ATMs and for PIN-based transactions at selected merchants in Singapore and at Maestro or Cirrus enabled merchants overseas. It also allows you to sign for local and overseas purchases and perform contactless payment via MasterCard® PayPass™, card-not-present transactions (such as online, mail and phone orders), which shall be paid for by directly deducting the transaction amount(s) from your bank account.

    Your MasterCard/Visa Debit Limit^ for signature-based or card-not-present transactions is set at S$2,000. A Debit Card carries risks of unauthorized signature-based, MasterCard® PayPass™/ Visa payWave or card-not-present transactions. You may choose to increase/decrease this limit upon activation.

  2. Are there any limits on how much I can spend with my POSB GO! Debit Card?

    a.  Default daily spending limit for PIN-based transactions (i.e. NETS) is S$3,000.
    b.  Default daily withdrawal limit at ATM is S$3,000.
    c.  The shared MasterCard Debit limit for the following is set at S$2,000:
    • Signature-based transaction
    • Contactless payment with MasterCard® PayPass™
    • Online payment
    • Mail order
    • Phone order

         You may choose to increase/decrease the MasterCard Debit Limit upon Card Activation via iBanking or your nearest POSB branch.

    Note: Above limits are subject to your available bank balance

  3. What should I do if my Card is lost, stolen or if my PIN has been compromised?

    Please notify us immediately by calling 1800 111 1111 (from Singapore) or +65 6327 2265 (International).

    1. Please make a police report and provide us with a copy of the report and in certain circumstances accompanied by written confirmation of the loss/ theft/ disclosure and any other information that we may require.
    2. Once we establish, with your assistance, that the loss or theft of your Card or PIN compromise was not due to your fault or negligence, your liability for unauthorised transactions effected after such loss, theft or unauthorised disclosure but before we are notified thereof shall be limited to S$100.
    3. You will not be liable for any transactions carried out after you have notified us.
    4. We will refund the amounts deducted from your bank account for unauthorised transactions, in excess of the applicable liability cap, within 14 working days from the time you submit all the necessary information to us.
  4. Are there any annual fees?

    No. Your POSB GO! Debit Card comes with no annual fees

 

MASTERCARD® PAYPASS™

  1. What is MasterCard® PayPass™?

    MasterCard® PayPass™ is a contactless payment method for purchases of S$100 and below at all MasterCard® contactless point-of-sale readers. Simply hold your POSB GO! Debit Card on the contactless reader to pay for your purchases.

  2. Will I need to activate MasterCard® PayPass™ when I receive the Card?
    1. For Cards instantly issued from the branch, you can start using MasterCard® PayPass™ for your purchases immediately.
    2. For Cards received via mail, you will need to activate your Card using iBanking or at an ATM before you can start using MasterCard® PayPass™ for your purchases.

NETS FLASHPAY

  1. What is NETS FlashPay?

    NETS FlashPay allows you to use your POSB GO! Debit Card for:

    • transport payments in Singapore, including MRT/LRT, buses, taxis and ERP charges
    • contactless payments at outlets with the NETS FlashPay acceptance marks.

  2. Can I start using the NETS FlashPay once I receive my POSB GO! Debit Card?

    You can start using NETS FlashPay by topping up the Card at any of the following locations:

    • DBS/POSB ATMs
    • MRT Stations: TransitLink Ticket Offices, Add Value Machines, General Ticketing Machines, Top Up Machines, SMRT/SBST Passenger Service Centres.

  3. How much can I top up to my NETS FlashPay?

    You can choose to top up the NETS FlashPay from a minimum of S$10 to a maximum amount of S$500.

  4. How can I obtain a refund for the value in my NETS FlashPay?
    For Debit Cards that are: Is the amount in my NETS FlashPay refundable? Where to get the refund?

    # It is only applicable if the value in the NETS FlashPay is readable.
    Note: The NETS FlashPay is valid for use for 5 years from the date of issue, same expiry date as your POSB GO! Debit Card. The NETS FlashPay is valid for full refund for 6 years from date of issue. The refund of the stored value, if any, of the NETS FlashPay is subject to the prevailing NETS Terms and Conditions Governing the Use of NETS FlashPay at www.netsflashpay.com.sg.

  5. Where can I ask for assistance if I encounter problems using NETS FlashPay?

    You can call NETS Sales & Customer Service at 6274 1212 for assistance. The hotline operating hours are 9.00am – 7.00pm (Monday - Saturday), 10.00am – 7.00pm (Sunday & Public Holidays).

  3. Before you use this new Card, please read the DBS Debit Card Agreement that is enclosed with the Card. If you have any queries regarding the Agreement, please give us a call at 1800 111 1111.
