You enjoy worldwide coverage unless you are travelling:

  • After a travel advisory is issued by the Ministry of Health or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
  • To a US-sanctioned country

Yes, you will be covered for the applicable benefits if you are hospitalised for at least 24 hours, for up to 365 days per sickness (including COVID-19). The coverage is also extended to cover accidental injury.

There is a 30-day waiting period from the policy commencement date for hospitalisation or day surgery treatment due to sickness. As an added benefit to our valued customers, the waiting period is waived for hospitalisation due to COVID-19.


Singapore Residents who are between the age of 18 and 59 years old (both ages inclusive) can apply for Recovery Hospital Cash. The policy is renewable up to 65 years old (age inclusive).

Dependent Child(ren) who are between the age of 1 and 18 years old (both ages inclusive) can also be covered under the policy. The age of the dependent child(ren) may be extended up to 25 years old, provided the child is primarily dependent on the applicant and is a full-time student at an accredited institution of higher learning, on the commencement date of the insurance.

Singapore Resident means Singapore citizen, Singapore permanent resident, or holder of a valid work permit, employment pass, long-term visit pass, dependant's pass, S Pass or student pass issued by the authorities in Singapore.


For insured person(s) employed in the occupations below, Recovery Hospital Cash provides coverage only while they are off-duty, at the time of accidental injury.

  • Armed and discipline forces including but not limited to the military, navy, air force, policemen, auxiliary police officers, customs officers, firemen, immigration officers or inspectors, and correctional service officers or inspectors
  • Professional sportsperson including motor sportsperson
  • Personnel working on board an aircraft

Yes, Recovery Hospital Cash pays on top of your other insurance policies, subject to policy terms and conditions.

The premium is age-dependent and will increase as you grow older.

Your policy will be automatically renewed:

  • upon payment of the monthly premium every month; and
  • if at least 1 insured person under the policy is within the maximum renewal age.

At the end of every 12 consecutive months, you will receive a refund of 20% of the preceding 12 months’ premium (excluding GST) to your nominated account if no claim for an event that occurred in that period is made.

The exclusions are stated under the General Exclusions section in the policy wording. Below are some key exclusions:

  • Pre-existing conditions
  • Deliberate and self-inflicted injury, suicide or, criminal or illegal act
  • Unlawful acts or wilful exposure to unnecessary danger (such as jaywalking or speeding) except in an attempt to save human life
  • Injury sustained by the insured person while under the influence of alcohol or any drugs
  • Air travel except as a passenger in a fully licensed passenger carrying aircraft
  • Hazardous sports or activities involving parachuting, skydiving, hang gliding, ballooning, any kind of race (other than on foot or swimming) or trial of speed or reliability, potholing or mountaineering.

No, this policy has no cash or surrender value.

You will receive a copy of your policy via email upon successful online application and payment of your premium.

You may cancel the policy by giving Chubb at least 1 month’s prior notice. Please contact Chubb’s Customer Service Hotline for assistance.

Coverage for an insured person will cease automatically:

  • When he ceases to be a Singapore Resident;
  • When he reaches the age of 66 years old; or
  • Upon his death.

How to Claim

To avoid delay and to ensure your claim is handled promptly and efficiently, please submit your claims within one month from the date of occurrence.

This policy is protected under the Policy Owners’ Protection Scheme which is administered by the Singapore Deposit Insurance Corporation ("SDIC"). Coverage for your policy is automatic and no further action is required from you.
