POSB Gallery

The POSB Gallery is now at its second destination in 2017 as it makes its way around Singapore.
It is currently on display at the S’pore Discovery Centre and is proud to be a part of the Total Defence special exhibition “Stronger Together” in February 2017, supporting the Economic Defence Pillar.

Growing up with Singaporeans through the years since its founding back in 1877, POSB has played a critical role in encouraging the nation to save for rainy days, as well as to plan for a brighter future. Walk down memory lane with us as the POSB Gallery narrates how POSB mobilised national savings, its contributions towards Economic Defence through nation building and its involvement in the development of Singapore to where it is today.

You will also see invaluable artefacts of the past, ranging from the iconic POSB Lucky Draw Drum used in the 1970s to vintage Smiley coin banks. As you reminisce about the past, join Smiley the Squirrel on his adventures to promote the importance of savings and serving a higher purpose beyond banking and see how he has transformed through time in his journey.

The gallery also illustrates how POSB stays true to being “Neighbours first, bankers second”, embedding itself in the community and remaining relevant to the needs of everyday Singaporeans.
