Close your Current/Savings Account via digibank online.

Important information

  • Account Closure is permanent, and cannot be reinstated.
  • Eligible Accounts can be closed via this service include all Current/Savings Account, MySavings Account/ SAYE/ eSavings Account.
  • This service is only available on digibank online (website). It cannot be done on your mobile app.
  • Before submitting the account closure request,
    • Transfer your remaining balance out to ensure the available balance is zero.
    • Do note that any DBS/POSB account linked to Paylah! cannot be closed. Learn more on how to Update DBS PayLah! Linked Account.

How to Close a Personal or Joint Alternate Account Using digibank online

Step 1
Log in to digibank online with your User ID and PIN.
Step 2
Complete the Authentication Process and you will be directed to the account closure page.
Step 3
Select the DBS/POSB Current / Savings Account that you wish to close and click Next.
Step 4
Verify the details and click Submit to complete the request.
Step 5
Review the completion of the account closure and click Finish.

Frequently Asked Questions

We recommend that you transfer your remaining balance via DBS Remit / Overseas Transfer / Local Funds Transfer before you close your account.

Account Closure will only happen if account’s available balance is zero. If the balance is negative or below $1, please top up to at least $1 and transfer the money out of your account before closing the account.

For holding/earmarked balance, please wait for a few days until the transactions are settled and ensure your available balance is zero before closing the account.
All your ATM/Debit Cards and GIRO facilities linked to the closed account will be terminated upon account closure
Any transactions that may not have been posted to your account upon closure will not be retrievable or provided via statements.
No, mail-in forms are no longer available. Any mail-in forms will be strictly rejected. Please close your account online.
Only Personal or Joint Alternate Account can be closed online.

The accounts listed below are not eligible for online account closure. Please visit a DBS/POSB branch to close the accounts.
  • Joint-All Account (both account holders are required to be present at a DBS/POSB branch)
  • Deceased / Estate Account
  • CDA / Trust Account
  • Last Account with the bank
  • Loan Servicing Account
  • Cashline Account / Fixed Deposit Account / Cheque Book Account / CPF Investment Account / DBS IDEAL Account / Standing Instruction Account / DBS Investment Account
