New Daily Account Limit for POSB Payroll Account & POSB Work Permit Account
DBS/POSB continues to strengthen our multi-layered defence against scams and fraud, so you can bank safely with peace of mind.
From 4 July 2026, the daily account limit will be adjusted to $7,000 for POSB Work Permit Account and/or POSB Payroll Account.
This limit cannot be increased. If you need to transact above $7,000 or have scheduled recurring transactions (e.g. GIRO or Standing Instruction), we encourage you to plan ahead to keep within this limit.
1. Why is DBS/POSB changing the daily account limit?
We are making this change to better protect your money from scammers. The limit helps reduce losses if scammers trick you into sending money.
If you suspect you are being scammed, immediately call our 24-hour Fraud Hotline at 1800 339 6963 (from Singapore) or +65 6339 6963 (from overseas).
2. What transactions are included in the daily account limit?
The $7,000 limit includes all money going out of your account:
- Local funds transfers
- Overseas funds transfers
- ATM funds transfers
- Payments made using QR Scan and Pay
- NETS payments made using your debit card
- Cash withdrawals (ATMs, at our branches)
- Scheduled recurring transactions (e.g GIRO, Standing Instruction)
- Top-up transactions
- Funds debited from your deposit account to add funds to or transact from your PayLah! Account
- Make an investment-related purchases (e.g. Unit Trust, Singapore Savings Bonds etc)
3. Are incoming transactions affected by this new daily account limit?
No. You can still receive any amount of money. The limit only applies to money going out of your account.
4. I have recurring transactions debited from my account every month. What can I do to avoid my transactions from being rejected?
To avoid rejected transactions, ensure that your total outgoing payments do not exceed the $7,000 daily account limit on the day your recurring payments are processed. You can plan ahead by reviewing your scheduled payments in digibank:
- Recurring Overseas Funds Transfers: View your scheduled transfers to overseas accounts
- Standing Instructions for Local Funds Transfers: Check your recurring transfers to local bank accounts
- Active GIRO Arrangements: View all your active GIRO payment arrangements in one place.
Note: Check your account statements/transaction details to see when your GIRO payments are usually deducted. Use this information to plan your next transfer and stay within the daily limit.
5. How do I check how much of my limit I have used in a day?
To calculate the daily utilised limits for your account, you can follow these steps:
- Login to digibank.
- Under Home, tap on Deposits and select POSB Payroll Account or POSB Work Permit Account you wish to view.
- Scroll down to view the transaction history.
- Add up all transactions deducted from the account within the day.
The unused limit is calculated by debiting total transaction amount from $7,000.
6. Will I be able to adjust this new limit?
No, the $7,000 limit cannot be changed. If you need to transact above $7,000, do plan in advance and split your transactions across multiple days.
7. What should I do if I need to transfer an amount larger than the new limit?
If you need to perform transactions above $7,000, you may wish to plan ahead to keep within the daily account limit.
8. Does the new daily account limit apply to other account types?
No. This limit only applies to POSB Work Permit Accounts and POSB Payroll Accounts.
