Wanting your child to go cashless in school or out of school? Apply for the POSB Smart Buddy today!

Important information

Please refer to the list to see if your Child's school is Smart Buddy enabled.
Do ensure your mailing address is updated before proceeding with the Smart Buddy application.
For the Smart Buddy Card, your child's name must not exceed 24 letters including spacing and special characters such as - & ( ) .

How to apply for Smart Buddy

Step 1
Launch our DBS digibot and tap Yes to apply for POSB Smart Buddy.

Step 2
Tap on Authenticate Me.

Step 3
Select the account where the funds should be deducted from.

Step 4
Enter your child's name to be printed on the Smart Buddy Card and select your child's age group.

You may choose between Watch with chip or Card Only.

Step 5
If you wish to link your child’s DBS/ POSB bank account with Smart Buddy, tap Yes & select your child’s identity type.

If your child is neither Singaporean nor Malaysian, please select Passport & ensure that the Passport Number begins with P.

Step 6
Below are the types of account which can be accepted as the child’s auto crediting bank account:

Joint Account between parent*/ 3rd party & child
Solus/ Personal Account belonging to the child

*refers to the parent who applied for the Smart Buddy card. Please note that the child’s crediting bank account cannot be the same as the debiting account chosen for the Smart Buddy card.

Step 7
Review the Application Details & tap Submit.

You will receive an email acknowledgement upon successful submission of the application.
The Smart Buddy Pack will be delivered to your registered mailing address within 7 working days.
Your child will be able to use the tap-and-pay at any NETS retailers out-of-school with this logo: .
You will be able to identify your Smart Buddy Card by referring to the card number indicated on the reverse of the payment chip.
