At POSB, we believe in the power of dreams, especially for our kids. We want every child in Singapore to have the support they need to reach their personal best.
POSB is proud to continue its sponsorship of national sprinter Marc Brian Louis and to welcome three exceptional new sprinters to the POSB family: Elizabeth-Ann Tan, Laavinia Jaigant, and Harry Curran. These inspiring individuals show us that with determination and resilience, we can overcome any challenge and follow our dreams.
By sharing their stories of grit and perseverance, we aim to inspire kids to follow their dreams, embrace challenges, and discover their own potential. This sponsorship reflects POSB's ongoing commitment to empowering our community and supporting kids in achieving their best.
Join us in cheering on Marc, Elizabeth, Laavinia and Harry as they train and compete. Stay tuned for exciting content and events featuring these inspiring athletes!
Marc's journey to becoming a top sprinter has been full of ups and downs. Even though things weren't always easy, starting with financial challenges when he was young, Marc discovered a love for running in primary school. His talent really started to shine in secondary school, but even then, he faced obstacles and even took a break from the sport. But Marc never gave up on his dream.
With support from his family and coach, and a strong belief in himself, he returned to the track more determined than ever. He trained incredibly hard for the 2024 Olympics, but a heartbreaking injury forced him to withdraw. Yet, Marc is not letting this major setback defeat him. Now, Marc is focused on the SEA Games 2025, showing us all what it means to never give up.
Elizabeth-Ann is a true champion, both on and off the track. She started running at just 8 years old and quickly showed everyone how talented she was. But even champions face challenges. Elizabeth-Ann has overcome two serious ankle injuries, showing incredible spirit to come back. She's also a dedicated student, proving that you can be successful in sports and academics. Now a record-breaking sprinter, she is not only a force on the national stage but also a powerful role model. With Olympic ambitions on the horizon, Elizabeth's story is a testament to the power of resilience.
Laavinia started running in New Zealand, but when she moved back to Singapore, training was different and more challenging. It took a lot of mental strength for her to adapt. Then, like many of us, she struggled to stay motivated during the pandemic. But Laavinia's mental toughness shone through. Her perseverance culminated in a remarkable achievement: breaking a 50-year-old national U20 400m record! Laavinia shows us that a strong mind can help you overcome anything.
Harry's a fast young runner with big dreams. Inspired by his mentor Marc Brian Louis, Harry’s already the U20 200m record-holder and is incredibly close to breaking the Men’s national 200m record. Training under the same coach and seeing Marc’s achievements firsthand has ignited a fire in Harry to push his limits every day. In Harry, we see that with hard work and the right inspiration, anything is possible.
