Features & Benefits

CancerCare (II) offers a lump sum payout in the event of cancer diagnosis. This cushions your expenses, allowing you to focus on recovery.

Cancer benefit1

100% payout of sum insured upon diagnosis of any stage of cancer, up to S$250,0001.

The plan types and corresponding sum insured are as follows:

  • Headstart: S$50,000
  • Essential: S$100,000
  • Advantage: S$150,000
  • Supreme: S$200,000
  • Elite: S$250,000

Premiums start from S$11.57/month2 (before prevailing promotions) and may be revised based on the attained age at the start of renewal every 5 years, up to the age of 84.

Automatic extension of benefits

Upon cancer diagnosis, get up to 5 years3 free coverage for remaining policy benefits, including death benefit.

Specified cancer treatment benefit

A one-time payout of 20% of the cancer benefit sum insured in the event the life insured is undergoing any of the specified cancer treatments4 in Singapore as advised by the Medical Examiner.

The plan types and corresponding sum insured are as follows:

  • Headstart: S$10,000
  • Essential: S$20,000
  • Advantage: S$30,000
  • Supreme: S$40,000
  • Elite: S$50,000

Coverage for children

A lump sum payout5 in the event that the child of the life insured is diagnosed with advanced stage cancer

The plan types and corresponding sum insured are as follows:

  • Headstart: S$5,000 per child
  • Essential: S$5,000 per child
  • Advantage: S$10,000 per child
  • Supreme: S$10,000 per child
  • Elite: S$10,000 per child

Death benefit6

A lump sum payout in the event of death of the life insured.

The plan types and corresponding sum insured are as follows:

  • Headstart: S$5,000
  • Essential: S$10,000
  • Advantage: S$15,000
  • Supreme: S$20,000
  • Elite: S$25,000

How it works

At age 40

  • John purchases a CancerCare Advantage plan.
  • He pays a monthly premium of S$41.467 for the first 5 years.

At age 43

  • John is diagnosed with cancer.
  • He receives the Cancer Benefit payout of S$150,0001 in a lump sum and the policy terminates.

Footnotes: 

1 We will not pay the cancer benefit if: the life insured did not survive for at least 7 days from the date of diagnosis of a cancer; the date of diagnosis of a cancer is within 90 days from the policy issue date or the date of reinstatement of this policy, whichever is later; if the life insured has contracted Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) or any AIDS-related condition; or if cancer was pre-existing. 

2 This premium amount is based on Headstart plan for a male, non-smoker, aged 18. The premium amount is for the first 5 years and will be revised after 5 years based on attained age at the start of each renewal. 

3 Upon the diagnosis of cancer, the policy will automatically extend: (i) for 5 years from the date of diagnosis of cancer; or (ii) until age 85 of the life insured, whichever is shorter. Premiums will cease during this period. The policy will terminate upon the life insured’s death, 5 years from the cancer diagnosis or age 85, whichever happens first. 

4 Specified cancer treatments refer to any of the following: 

  1. Proton Therapy 
  2. Clinical Trial Cancer Drug Treatment 
  3. Off-Label Cancer Drug Treatment 
  4. Cell, Tissue and Gene Therapy 
  5. CAR-T Cell Therapy 
  6. Stem Cell Transplant 

Please refer to policy contract for definitions of the cancer treatments. 

5 The age of the life insured’s child must be between 30 days and 17 years old when Advanced Stage Cancer was diagnosed. Only the biological or legally adopted child of the life insured is eligible. Stepchildren are not entitled to this benefit. The maximum number of claims is 2 times and each claim must be on a different child. This benefit is capped at SGD 40,000 per child and no more than SGD 80,000 per family regardless on the number of policies held by life insured 

6 We will not pay the death benefit if: the life insured dies from suicide or due to a pre-existing condition within one year of the policy issue date or the effective date of the most recent reinstatement of the policy, whichever is later. We will refund all premiums paid without interest and less any medical or other expenses we have paid in connection with the policy. 

7 The premium amount is calculated based on a male aged 40, non-smoker. Please refer to the Product Documents for the Policy Illustration and Product Summary.
